Art Therapy/Counseling

Depending on what is appropriate or requested, modalities that I might weave into Art Therapy/Counseling sessions include:

Gestalt Therapy, Internal Family Systems work, Psychodynamic Therapy, Jungian approaches, Somatic awareness and Mindfulness-Based practices, EMDR, Compassionate Communication (NVC) principles, Psychodrama, dance and movement activities/practices, astrology, and ceremony/ritual when appropriate.

In the last few years I have had the opportunity to study with both Gabor Mate and Thomas Hubl. This has greatly enhanced my skills as a Trauma Informed Therapist.

I enjoy serving families, couples, and groups, as I recognize that addressing the systems we belong to, often helps to reveal limiting patterns and behavior.  I also enjoy working with individuals, and simply keep the spirit of systemic thinking alive in our explorations.

Massage/Bodywork

Having studied myriad modalities and with many teachers, my mode of working is eclectic, and unique to the needs of each client.  I am trained in Cranial Sacral Therapy, Swedish, Neuromuscular Therapy, Thai Massage, Thai Foot Reflexology, Barefoot Shiatsu, Lomi Lomi Pohaku (Hawaiian Hot Stone Massage), Chi Nei Tsang (Chinese Abdominal Massage), Prenatal Massage, and Energy Work.  My body-balancing practices are an ongoing evolution.  At this point, I clearly recognize that each client is a great teacher on this path of endless discovery.

Assisting families during labor and postpartum

In 2004, while visiting long-time family friends, I serendipitously witnessed and participated in a precious birth process.  This changed my life.  Soon after, I began studying with a mid-wife on Maui and later travelled to Mexico to further my studies with a traditional mid-wife.

In July of 2014 I began a Mentorship and Training Program for Doulas and Family Professionals through the, "Birthing Tree," in Santa Fe, NM.  In October of 2014 I completed a CAPPA training focused on Labor Doula support.  Offering my skills in myriad ways to families, both prenatally and post-partum, is a high honor and I look forward to serving you!
